Young TEC Events

Young TEC offers its members regular networking events with other young professionals working in the tourism industry, educational workshops and a mentoring and development programme which gives you the most up-to-date tourism information.

Regional Networking Events

Regional networking events are usually ‘after 5’s or breakfast events, with some including guest speakers. The networking sessions are held semi-regularly and mainly during the months of April and November. They are free for members to attend but there could be some personal cost for food and beverage.

There are 2–3 coordinators in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.

Young TEC Summit

Held annually on the day prior to the Young Tec Xmas Symposium, which is usually the second Wednesday of December, the Young TEC Summit is an opportunity for members to get together and review how the year went and be inspired by industry speakers.

An outline of the Summit afternoon includes:

• Networking lunch
• Introductions and review of year past
• Setting goals for the coming year
• Keynote speakers
• Networking drinks

The Young TEC Summit has a fee to attend with a discount if attending both the Young TEC Summit and the Xmas Symposium the next day.

Tourism Conference

The annual tourism conference is an opportunity for business and networking to be done between Inbound Tour Operators and our valued Allied Members. All are welcome, but this two-day event has a cost (approx. $700 +gst) and while not all Young TEC members attend the conference, for those that do we take the opportunity to have a Young TEC workshop first thing on the second morning which is facilitated by the Executive committee.

Visit the www.tourismexportcouncil.org.nz/events page for conference information.
