The Pounamu Pathway is a cultural tourism initiative on New Zealand’s Te Tai o Poutini | West Coast featuring four interconnected visitor hubs located in Kawatiri | Westport, Māwhera | Greymouth, Hokitika, Waiau | Franz Josef that use immersive digital storytelling, created with Wētā Workshop, to share the region’s Māori legends, history, and natural heritage, focusing on the significance of pounamu (greenstone) to the local Poutini Ngāi Tahu people. It’s a journey through ancient stories, pioneers, and the precious jade that defines the coast.
