After several years of disruptions, the TECNZ Operator of the Year awards returned for 2023.
The award categories winners are:
- Inbound Operator of the Year – Southern World
- Allied Operator of the Year – Sudima Hotels
- Small Operator of the Year – Fiordland Jet
- Good Sort of the Year – Martin Langford of Ngai Tahu Tourism
- YoungTEC Rising Star – Georgia MacMillan, Tomohawk and Morgan Potter, Central Otago District Council (joint winners)
- YoungTEC Emerging Leader – Emma Canute, Wētā Workshop

Achievement Awards 2022
The 2022 Achievement Awards were a one-off set of awards. They recognized and celebrated members that have been proactive in making a difference to their communities, implementing new sustainability initiatives across their business, and developing new visitor product and experiences during the pandemic period.
The five categories recognise excellence in community and charity groups, environment and sustainability initiatives, innovative product and experience development and two individual awards: Good sort/Unsung Hero and YoungTEC Emerging Leader.
