YoungTEC Masterclass
YoungTEC’s Masterclass is back for another year of learning, upskilling and development – and this year, we’re switching things up to lunchtime! Lunch and learn with bite-sized, 45-minute online sessions across late-June to early-August. Dial in at the office with your colleagues or while you work from home – and if you can’t make it, we’ll also be recording the sessions. Across six thought-provoking Masterclasses, you’ll hear some fascinating career stories to inspire your own journey, and learn the tricks of the trade from a range of industry experts. Oh, and it’s all included in your membership.
This is what you can expect during the first three sessions.
Week one: Friday 27 June (12.15pm – 1.00pm) – Jenni Powell, Both brains
Week two: Friday 4 July (12.15pm – 1.00pm) – Brad Rowe, Tourism x Design & Alex Huffadine, RealNZ
Week three: Friday 11 July (12.15pm – 1.00pm) – Nadia Ellis, Curiosity

YoungTEC Mentorship Programme 2026
Our mentors have provided guidance, motivation, emotional support to hundreds of YoungTEC members – with many still in contact to this day.
For 2026, we’ve created a more flexible structure that supports career development at every stage. The programme runs over several months, allowing mentors and mentees to build meaningful connections while fitting conversations around busy schedules.
Whether you’re looking to grow your leadership skills, explore new career pathways, or share your experience with the next generation of tourism professionals, we’d love to have you involved.
Applications are now open, with the first round of mentorship matches launching in the first week of July.
Sign up here to take part as a Mentee for 2026.
Key requirements:
- Commitment to attend a minimum of 3 mentorship sessions, with flexibility to meet more often if desired.
“I love the Mentee program for TEC – it gives me such a kick dealing with positive, smart industry professionals. And I am often surprised at how it’s the simple stuff that helps the most. We’ve got so good at complicating (and creating stress) our lives that distilling things down seems to be helping so many people.
I’m super excited to see who this year’s Mentee is, although I am still in touch with my other mentees! “ – Georgina Torrington, Brooke Serene.
