Founded in 2013 by Auckland-based Kumar Swaminathan, XperieNZ is a boutique destination management company specialising in bespoke travel across New Zealand and Australia. Our business is primarily advisor-driven, with the United States and Canada as our principal markets. We work closely with travel advisors and trade partners to design and manage individual journeys for couples, families and private groups. In 2025, LUXlife Magazine named XperieNZ Best Tailored Travel Company, New Zealand.
Every journey starts with a conversation. Talking directly with advisors and their clients, we develop an understanding of the travellers’ motivations, interests and expectations. These insights shape every aspect of the journey, including its route, pace, accommodation and experiences, with private driver-guided travel, self-drive or a combination of both.
Our strength lies in the judgement behind the design: how destinations connect, which experiences suit the travellers and where their time is best spent. Destination knowledge, cultural depth and established local relationships inform our recommendations. Personal attention and close oversight carry that thinking through from the initial conversation to the delivery of the journey.

We offer a defined collection of adults-only Private Day Journeys and Curated Multi-Day Journeys across New Zealand and Australia. Our business is primarily advisor-driven, with the United States and Canada as our principal markets.
Deep curation, thoughtful pacing and cultural immersion shape the collection. We consider how experiences connect, how each day unfolds and where guests need time to explore, engage or simply enjoy being somewhere. Every journey is delivered exclusively for the booking party.
Private Day Journeys
Our Private Day Journeys bring the care and depth of complete journey design to a single day. Experiences are selected and sequenced to work together, with considered pacing, local connections and private delivery throughout the day.
These complete, pre-designed journeys fit into an existing itinerary, including pre-cruise and post-cruise stays. They give advisors a distinctive experience to offer within a wider holiday without changing their existing arrangements or supplier relationships.
Curated Multi-Day Journeys
Our Curated Multi-Day Journeys are complete private itineraries, each designed in full before it reaches the advisor. Routes, accommodation and experiences are chosen together, balancing exploration, cultural engagement and time at leisure.
The detailed design work has already been done. Advisors can select a journey with a clear understanding of its route, accommodation standard, experiences, inclusions and price, avoiding an extended process of building and revising an itinerary from scratch. Private driver-guided travel on touring days and personal support underpin the guest experience. Journeys are offered across Premium, Luxury and Ultra Luxury tiers.
