The Tourism Export Council New Zealand (TECNZ) has recognised the outstanding achievements of New Zealand’s tourism industry, announcing the winners of the 2026 Tourism Export Awards and YoungTEC Awards at a gala celebration held in Christchurch.
The Tourism Export Awards celebrate organisations and individuals who are leading the way in New Zealand tourism through excellence in visitor experiences, business performance, sustainability, leadership and industry contribution. The YoungTEC Awards recognise emerging leaders who are helping shape the future of New Zealand’s tourism industry.
TECNZ Chief Executive Lynda Keene said this year’s winners represent the very best of New Zealand tourism. “Our winners exemplify the innovation, professionalism and passion that make New Zealand’s tourism industry internationally respected. They continue to raise the bar through exceptional visitor experiences, strong leadership, sustainable business practices and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud to celebrate their achievements.”
The awards also acknowledge the high calibre of finalists across every category, reflecting the strength, resilience and ongoing evolution of New Zealand’s tourism industry.
The winners of the 2026 TECNZ Operator of the Year Awards are:
- Large Inbound Operator of the Year Award – Southern World
- Small/Medium Inbound Operator of the Year Award – Bloomoon New Zealand
- Large Allied Operator of the Year Award – Distinction Hotels Group
- Small/Medium Allied Operator of the Year Award – Auckland & Beyond Tours
- New Member of the Year – Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures
- Good Sort of the Year – Debbie Summers, ID New Zealand
- Unsung Hero of the Year – Joleen Redden, Entrada Travel Group
The winners of the 2026 YoungTEC Awards are:
- YoungTEC Leadership Development – Emma Bradley, First Light Travel
- YoungTEC Rising Star – Emma Clarke, Ngāi Tahu Tourism
The TECNZ and YoungTEC Awards continue to serve as a benchmark for excellence in the New Zealand tourism industry, inspiring future leaders and highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping a sustainable and thriving tourism landscape.
In addition to the main award categories, three individuals were honoured with Service Awards for their outstanding contribution and long-term service to the TECNZ Board and industry. These awards celebrate the dedication and voluntary leadership of those who have helped shape the direction and impact of the organisation over many years. The 2026 recipients are:
- Anna Black, 13 Year Service Award
- Mark Quickfall, 14 Year Service Award
- Paul Yeo, Industry Service Award
